about me
Hello! My name is Clairen Stone. I reside in Sisters, Oregon. I first arrived in central Oregon in 2010 when I moved from my hometown of Juneau, Alaska to Bend for the mountain biking, yoga studios, and sunshine. At that point my career in bodywork began to take shape, beginning with a therapeutic oriented massage program at Sage School of Massage in Bend. After my initial licensing, I decided to train at the Rolf Institute of Structural Integration which lead me to Colorado, Bali, Costa Rica, Northern Alberta, Spain and back to Oregon. Somehow I also managed to do programs at the CHEK Institute in corrective exercise and holistic lifestyle coaching, and be a competitive EXTERRA triathlete! My background is rich in treatment oriented bodywork and I’ve been blessed with many talented and wise teachers who I have learned sooo much from. In my late twenties I took a respite from bodywork and returned to university at Naropa in Boulder Colorado. After a short couple years of studying Eastern religions I found myself back in central Oregon, returning to my career as a bodyworker and healer. Most recently I have shifted my lens of work and am focusing primarily on Thai massage. I am deeply grateful to have found my teacher, Janice Gagnon, in Nevada City, CA, who studied under and worked with the prominent female Thai massage teacher Lek Chaiya for decades. I am honored to be a part of this lineage of healing art and plan to continue being a student of Thai massage for a long time to come.
I am very excited to work with women in my massage practice, particularly those who are prenatal and postpartum. I also love working with athletes and the elderly.
Outside of being a bodyworker, I am a devoted and passionate pet owner, a hard working farm girl whenever I get the chance, aspiring gardener, a worshipper of the great outdoors, and I design and make natural fiber clothing on the side for my very small brand Stonefolk.
